Mr William Saldanha, proprietor of Oasis Caterers Neermarga, was the guest for the Thallo Umallo live phone in programme on August 30.
He spoke about how the pandemic has badly affected the catering industry in the last 18 months.
He also mentioned that he maintained a discipline in his catering shed to make sure that his staff members did not consume alcohol and also maintained hygiene.
“Presently, I strictly follow Covid protocol and allow only vaccinated staff to serve during celebrations,” Mr Saldanha said.
He thanked the people who supported him in his business in the last 10 years.
Wasting food and water is something he does not like. Hence, he said that he makes sure that his staff serve adequately so that people do not waste food. He said he donated the leftovers to orphanages.
He also said that he has had the experience of serving for mega crowds to the tune of 14000+ people during Bishop Peter Paul Saldanha’s installation and also for 8000+ people in Permannur.
Callers interacted from Dubai, Bangalore and from various parts of Mangalore.
