A new digital display system was installed and inaugurated at Wenlock district hospital here on Thursday, March 2. The digital displays system has been donated by Bangalore Jesuit Education Society, Bangalore. It was gifted to the hospital through Radio Sarang.
The gift was in gratitude to the free service of Wenlock hospital in airing a weekly phone in programme on Radio Sarang called ‘Hallo Wenlock’. Each week a doctor comes to the station and interacts with the audience on a health subject. Over 125 episodes of the programme have already been completed successfully.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal of St Aloysius College (Autonomous) Dr (Fr) Praveen Martis SJ thanked the hospital administration for the social service it rendered. “It was indeed a marvelous effort from Wenlock hospital to help our poor people in giving awareness on health issues,” he said.
Medical superindent of Wenlock hospital, Dr Sadashiv Shanbagh said that it was indeed a good opportunity for the Wenlock doctors to interact with Radio Sarang listeners. “Wenlock hospital hopes to do more such programmes in association with Radio Sarang,” he added.
Director of Radio Sarang Dr (Fr) Melwyn Pinto SJ proposed the vote of thanks. Registrar Dr Alwyn D’Sa and Radio Sarang staff were present.
