“It's difficult to get all types of religious items in Church stalls. The shops like Jerosa supply all types of these required religious items to devotees of the globe. Hence Milagres is the Hub of these types of shops," said Ullas Rasquinha, the managing partner of Jerosa Company during Thaallo Umaallo live programme on June 13.
Jerosa is a brand shop. It has been serving the exclusive needs of Catholic community for the last nine decades. Initially it was known as Simon & Co. For the last 55 years it has been running under the banner called Jerosa.
“In Mangalore earlier we had candle making business, rosary making, scapular making business and many more businesses. These shops purchase those items from the manufacturer and sell them. Now candle business is not popular in Mangalore so the merchants purchase candles from Tamil Nādu,” Mr Rasquinha said. He said that during Christmas many items come from China.
He also spoke about CD and cassette business in Mangalore. “Earlier in a month there was a huge sale of these, but now even three or four CDs don't sell,” he added.
Many callers appreciated the good work of Jerosa. Jerosa has a two shops in Mangalore. One is giving exclusive priority to the Catholic celebration items. Another to religious items. Customers from abroad who come on vacation make it a point to pay a visit to this place.
Many callers called and thanked for Rasquinha’s presence at Sarang.
